  • Black Friday Non Fiction Test Practice 1-10
  • Homework: Black Friday Nonfiction Long Response Questions (Use RACE to frame your response.)

3rd Period: Comma Rules

  • Homework: Write 1 sentence for each of the listed comma rules.

Wednesday

1st & 2nd Periods:

  • Fact vs. Opinion handout
  • Text Structure Practice Test

3rd Period: Spelling and Writing with commonly confused words

Thursday

1st & 2nd Periods:

  • Write a nonfiction response based on “Black Friday.” What traditions do you have during the last months of the year? Do you celebrate holidays? Do you make plans for the new year? Select an organizational structure and use transition words to demonstrate that structure in your writing.

3rd Period: Evaluating nonfiction writing. Have your completed informational texts for class.

Friday

1st & 2nd Periods:

  • Write a narrative based on a tradition you have during the last months of the year. If you do not have one, what tradition would you like to practice? You may use fictitious characters and setting in your writing.

3rd Period: Spelling and Writing with commonly confused words

  • Narratives based on non-fiction writing
